Great training in Brooklyn with Kenway. Snatched light to try some tweaks to fix my bar path. This resulted in lots of misses, but I may stick with a slightly more toes-out start position to bow my knees out to allow a better bar sweep on the first pull. Cleans felt good.
Ever since watching a video of one of Mark Twight's workouts using tractor tires, I've always wanted to try a metcon that involved flipping giant tires. Well, the good folks at Brooklyn Barbell acquired not one, but two, massive tractor tires. Well, we just had to use one of those tires, right? We cooked something up modeled off of one of the events from Hybrid Athletics' Winter Challenge. Thankfully we had the good sense to drop the weight and reps on the power snatches (I initially thought 115# and four reps; man am I glad we changed that!). We alternated tire flips until we complete six apiece, which actually turned out to give just enough rest that we didn't pause much at all during the entire 15 minutes. Awesome.

That was a stupendously awesome workout, B. Both movements ask for explosive power, so it wears you out quickly.
Felt like one long continuous burn...
Yeah, that wrecked me. Maybe we can team up for the big tire one of these days...
My arms are bruised as hell too.
Still think it should have been called Monster Truck Snatch
Man I wished I had been there to join you, that sounds awesome! I am totally jealous.
G, if you were there, we could have used the BIG tire!
On another topic, Kenway and I guessed wrong on the weather today, and it was a perfect (maybe a tad blustery) Gunks day. And damn, I hear the ice is off to a slow start ...
The tire's waiting for you, G. We're going to find a way to use the climbing rope next...
